    You can tell us after you try the UQ.

    Regarding shelters; everybody should try it once. The good news is, it doesn't mean you have to sleep on the boards. I hung my hammock in several shelters along the way. You'll find they tend to be colder than setting up your tarp/hammock/quilts. Nice on a rainy day though.

    The only reason I'd carry a pad at all, is there are some hostels that don't have any mattresses or padding on their cots. Pads come in very handy in those instances. Those places, thankfully, are in the minority.
