How about we camp over Saturday night, Nov. 26th? Burning Bear campground.

I am game for the weekend of the 26th, but most likely, many won't be able to make it, due to travel for Thanksgiving. Thoughts, everyone?
EDIT: After checking with the wifey, she's on call at the hospital that weekend, so we are going to have to back out from that date. I'll refrain from committing to any other dates until I have the full schedule in hand.

If Food brings tamales, I bet we'll get higher turnout. Some might even be willing to skip Thanksgiving dinner for those bad boys
I'm in if we wait till after Christmas. Or do another one after then.
WOOHOO!
There's a little rock outcropping called Chimney Rock in Saylor Park (Pike NF) that I bet has a beautiful view when it's snowy...looks out over the valley. We'd probably have it to ourselves in the winter. No water nearby, but a 4x4 could drive up to it depending on snow levels. It's right off of Rampart Range, which is normally plowed beyond that turnoff, so parking on Rampart and hiking is probably a couple miles. I could post a map when I get home, but don't have a way to do it from where I am.
It's just NE of Woodland Park on Rampart Range Road.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
I'm definitely game for another after Christmas. The only thing better than a winter group hang is TWO winter group hangs. Another place I was looking at was the area around Devil's Head Fire Lookout - the actual lookout station is closed in winter, I think, but I bet you could still get some good views from the area.
Last January the Rampart Range Road was closed at 67 on the north. Will the Mt Herman Road be open?
I am up for a January hang also.

Chimney Peak is about 3 miles with 300 ft. gain and 600 ft. loss from Rampart Range Road if you cross the meadow to Cave Creek Road.
Saylor Park is north of the Mt. Herman Road. I am concerned that Rampart Range Road will be closed.

There's no way I could do the 26th, to many t-day activities and such. The weekend of December 10th would wonderfully for me though...
Turns out I can't do thanksgiving weekend either - just found out that my better half has work obligations, and she's been even more anxious to get out for a winter campout than I have, so I can't leave her behind!
