Colorado 2011 Early Winter Hang Discussion Thread

so ive been off the map for awhile but ive been itching to get out and hang. i missed the last one due to work stupidity and thanks to more id miss the one next weekend. would it be possible to hang back at the wolf sanctuary sometime in January? this sounds too awesome to pass up and i would be more than happy to help out in some way. all weekends are blacked out at work until after the first of the year and im crossing my fingers that santa will bring me a phoenix.

Just an FYI, the wife will not be attending. She is on some new meds that make her epilepsy worse and we don't want to take chances.

I got back to Colorado on Friday, and spent a couple quality hours in the mountains today with the family...good stuff. So it'll most likely be me plus two for the hangout!

My problem now is that for the past seven months I've gotten a total of about 15 minutes of sunlight per day, and that was right at dusk...so you can pretty much see through my skin! Really looking forward to getting enough sunshine to look human again!

Too bad the hangout wasn't this weekend...full moon with a total lunar eclipse! We watched about half of it from here but it would have been much cooler in the mountains with wolves howling!

So what all is available to use in the way of facilities and water? Is it "if u want it u bring it"? Or is there a source of water nearby, and we are attempting cat holes?

so, my only hangup is transportation. Will a FWD car make it alright out there? I do have brand new tires.

If not, anybody around the Denver area interested in splitting gas?

I would be happy to share a ride, but I am kinna quirky.

I want to stop at the CutTroat Cafe in Bailey on my way there AND be in the car to listen to the Broncos game by 2:00. We should be back in the metro by Tebow Time.

Sorry I've been AWOL the last several days. I had some personal stuff come up then a dead connection up in the mountains; I'm currently in Keystone.

Is there still interest? I'm seeing lots of drops. We can have access just about whenever if it needs to be rescheduled. I'm going to be on and off today, but will check back often. The place is about 5-7 miles north of Guffey just off Hwy 9 (I think that's the number). If it is still 'on' I'll have some kind of marker in place.
