    Woopie slings/ suspension

Feedback before I order. I am going to order 6 foot Woopie slings and attach to my DN Eno hammock. I am going to cut my Eno slap straps to 6 foot and cut off each loop to save weight. Any suggestions on above process and any thing else I should include or exclude in my suspension. I am trying to go as ultra light as possible. Also what about ridge line. Never used one and hammock does ok as is. Anything I'm missing? Again thanks for all the feedback.

    Maddox:
The 6' whoopies will do you fine on the DN. The ridgeline is to set the sag of the hammock, this way you will lay in the same spot each time you are in the hammock. Usually most folks ditch the Slapstraps all together and order webbing from one of the vendors on HF or you can order "the simple sling" from strapswork.com.

You should order some tree straps rather than modifying the slap straps. They are made from nylon. The slap straps are known and hated for the stretch of the nylon. Good polyester straps will be better than the slap straps and you can order...from some vendors here any way ...the length you would like. And in many cases they are lighter weight than the slap straps by a comfortable margin.

Dont cut the slap straps, either sell them or return them to where your bought them. You are better off saving money by buying regular luggage straps. A ridge line is great and can be made out of different types of rope or just bought.

I agree with jason. Keep the Slap Straps intact and sell them or return them. A casual user may find them ok to use. They will still stretch since they are nylon. Pick up some polyester webbing from pgibson or another HF vendor and you'll be good to go with your whoopie slings.
