    Weaving the pad in

At about 3:50 in the video at http://leighlounderquilts.webs.com/topquilts.htm, Leigh's dad, hangnout, begins to show how he / they accomodate and incorporate a (lower) leg pad in their top quilt.

?Reports here from others on doing similar with any UQ's? Does it work for you in managing pad shift when you use a fractional UQ and then a pad in the hammock for lower leg insulation?

Bridge hammocks (as I think hangnout uses) are all smooth and calm surfaces down at the foot end, without the waves that can toss loose pads about in gathered-end hammocks. Anybody successful with the attached pad in a gathered end?

I never saw that method before but as one who tosses and turns a lot it's certainly worth trying.

I have used it in a gathered end with the same results. With the gathered end you just have to make sure the pad is big enough to cover any spots that your feet push against the hammock.
