Swampfox, thanks for putting this hang together. I had a great time and it is always great to meet new folks. Floorman, I appreciate you letting me keep warm by your fire.

As always, I learn so much from others at hangs like this. Now my mission is to lighten my load. I can once again see $ bills leaving my wallet. When I got home I weighed my pack and it was over 45 pounds. No wonder it felt heavy.

Looking forward to the Spring Hang but this was such a beautiful spot I will probably be back before then.

Already thinking about this next Upstate Hang. . . this time I will be bringing the Blue Cheese dressing and Buffalo Sauce Chicken wings over the grill was fantastic and for the short hike in, well worth the weight penalty.

I mean, it's not like you have to pack them both in and out...am I right?

Definitely excited about the prospect of a spring hang. Make it so.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
    Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

    Smart young man!
He is your friend, your companion, your defender... he is your dog. You are his life, his leader, and master. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of that devotion.

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

Heck of a stealth hang you had there GT

I was looking forward to some great campfire college football chatter but I had no football fans out there to smack talk with. Well, at the time, I didn't realize Carolinasbackpacker was a college football fan otherwise I would have made that walk over to his pad for some conversation, especially now seeing that he was getting the scores out there

    "No excuses", huh

This trip from the perspective of a Dad with kids in tow.

This was a great trip. I enjoyed the time spent around the camp with new and old friends alike. I enjoyed seeing the other setups, talking gear, and hiking in search of the until now elusive Ellicott's Rock. The weekend could not have been more beautiful with the weather and the leaves and the river.

If you want to suffer thru more of my ramblings about this trip or just look at the pictures from the trip, check out this link ---> http://cwhammocks.com/home/fall-hang/

Thanks to everyone who made this hang happen and especially to theriddler, futbolfreak08, muskrat, and wfr for putting up with my and my girls in camp and on the trail. You helped us have a great weekend. They are chomping at the bit for the next time we can get together and camp.

Bring on the Spring hang and the Goat Island Hang.
