    DIY Underquilt Template - HHBU

Found this image in the hammock camping forums in Yahoo, which is now pretty much defunct. Thought it might be useful here in hammock forums for anyone making their own UQ. I was thinking of modifying it with extensions that would go above the hammock, kind of HHSS.

Has anyone built their own DIY HHSS? I'm thinking of using the Poncho Liner for it.

Made the same one using poncho liner, works ok, a little heavy & bulky.

    THANK YOU

i had been wondering how i was going to pull of all these measurements myself. does anyone know if these keep the quilt relatively tight to the hammock?

edit: on second thought, I'm going to take my other question to another thread so i dont muck this one up. Thanks again!

I found a pattern very similar to this, the one I found uses two darts; which gives it more cupping instead if a flat lay. My advice to anyone is to create it to sclae in paper and see how it looks. Quick and simple, but will save a lot of heartbreak and money in the end. I'm preparing to make one in the next few days, just waiting for my Climashield to arrive. I'll be doing some modifications to it, and will post the results once I complete the project.

I am modifying my DIY PLUQ into this, I will share pics as I progress. I am thinking of using some of the scrap from the PL to extend the ends into "cones" at the ends like the HHSS - I am hoping that it helps to reduce drafts at the ends.

I'm not sure where the link to this went, but here's a PDF that used to be out here on how to make a synthetic DIY Kickass Quilt for a Hennessy. I made one of these using Thinsulate as the insulating material a couple of years ago. I still use it down to 40.

I realize this is an old thread. Does anyone have a larger image of the dimensions of the pattern for this UQ?

    Thanks,

Open it in a new tab instead of the current one (or a new window, if you're working with a browser that doesn't do tabs), and it'll pop up as ~530 x 780 pixels or something close to that.

    Hope it helps!
