    grosgrain ribbon and ladder buckles

Is there a way to modify a ladder buckle so it will work with grosgrain---and not slip?

I don't know about the buckle itself but I would say try feeding the ribbon back up into the buckle creating more friction points on the ribbon. Or a half hitch in th ribbon will stop it.
I think to mod the buckle you would have to put some ridges on it and it would tear up the gg ribbon.

    just me thinking.

ladder buckles can have numerous configurations. Some have extra slots to weave the ribbons through. With others you can thread the buckle and turn the tail back
on itself to re-thread the ribbon back on itself. It takes some experimentation to find the best configuration for you set up.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I guess modifying a ladder buckle this way will not function well. Have you given it a try?

If you run it through the buckle then run the slack end through a triglide it may work. I had the same problem while building a camera mount. I ended up using some thicker webbing.

    grosgrain ribbon and ladder buckles

I've never had any luck with thin Grosgain and ladder locks.
However, I think I saw a note on www.DIYGearSupply.com about hardware that works with thin Grosgain; my memory may fail me though.
