I use the gutter spikes,,you can stick them in wet, black loamy soil and they hold very nice,,same for sandy soil,,not much weight loss either,,,and they have held in 50 plus winds on my 2 large tarps,,OMW by WL,,and 10' x 12' OES,,works perfect for me. For snow,,wood pieces,,rocks,,what ever works perfect in surroundings that is natural with weight on it, hard to get a stake out of frozen ground if you know what I mean.
They've been working best for me. And a lot more affordable too, if you loose one...no big deal. Just be sure you get the aluminum ones for the lightest type.
