    @Shane Wow, sorry to hear you and Pamela won't make it, I know you'll be missed

    @jrs, I'll bring torts, peppers and onions (and maybe another veggie, I love veggie fajitas)

    @UncleMJM and Cindy,
    I can't wait to try that mac and cheese!

    @oldgringo,
    Tater soup sounds yummy

    I'll be heading that way Sat morning

    Shane, Please pass on to Pamela that we will miss her. I know Chris was looking forward to some Rangers talk and I'll miss hanging out with both of you.

    Sounds like time to start thinking about the next one then!

    Grilled Portabella Mushrooms and Zuchini/yellow squash spears go great in the veggie fajita mix too.

    Got my mouth watering now.

    I only have one dutch oven. Fideo doesn't require it, but german potato soup requires sitting near the fire all day, or being in a slow cooker for about 8 hours.

    That said, I've never made my cream puffs in a dutch oven so I don't quite know how they'd turn out but they're my standard potluck fare, and been making them for .... more years than I care to admit.

    Somehow, sitting by a fire all day sounds very appealing right now and after looking at the morning lows in the forecast it may be a popular place. And soup or several pots of soup makes good sense for a cool weekend too.

    I may bring an extra pot and throw in some trimmings and leftovers and see what it makes.

    Portabello's were exactly what I had in mind! I forgot about squash though. Just added to the groc. list. Thanks!

    Okay, I have a guest. He's a tenter, be gentle.

    Chris got his masters at UARK while working in the tree ring lab, and is currently employed by TPWD at Austin, in the big game division. I won't put him on the spot with a request for a presentation, but he will be glad to talk trees with any and all.

    He's a good guy, if we can just get him off the ground.

    I'm bringing along 4 others. One is a hanger and pointed me to this forum, the other three are very amiable ground dwelling chaps.

    As of now, we'll be packing a kayak and a canoe and are set to show up Saturday mid-day and leave Monday morning.
