It is pretty awesome. I don't understand why it is warm enough on the bottom. They are 550 fp down. That won't compress near as much as 900 fp I guess, but it still compresses a good bit. Makes me wonder why my sleeping bags- even poorly compressing synthetic- have not worked for bottom warmth? I mean- Ok my Cat's Meow 20F Polarguard has worked, but not enough. So what is the deal with these?

But hey, if it worked, it worked. I may be getting some of these.

What is the weight of a pair? And the loft? Just curious.

Maybe they work better because they are tighter around your body than a bag would be.
I am going out this Saturday and do some more test.... I will post my findings.

I'm wondering if you're wearing them next to your skin (and how it feels) or with a baselayer.

You said that you didn't use an underquilt. Did you use a top quilt?

    Peace,

I'm testing the SelkBag Light right now (field report due the first of January). I think wearable sleeping bags, like the Selk, or even down pants/top combo is a great solution for hammock camping for ease of entry/exit. It's something to get used to, however. I'm finding I like to snuggle up in a quilt, and even though I feel warm, something feels missing to have nothing but what I'm wearing.

For the curious, the SelkBag's have synthetic insulation. The Light version is rated at 40°F. It is heavy and bulky (read: great for base camps, poor for lightweight backpacking). I wish they were down!

    Any condensation problems?

Also must smell like a real peach after about 3 or 4 nights.

One of the reviews on Cabelas said the pants weigh 9 oz. and my daughter sent me a 50.00 gift card for my birthday other day of Cabelas,,now I know what I am going to use that on..as I want a pair of the Reg. Large ones on sale at 48.74. Machine washable as well..for that kind of money I really think its a decient buy to use, as I will also use them hunting and early spring fishing when the ice goes out.
