Thanks for posting this. I just got a pair to match up with my field coat liner. Warm, windproof, cheap and light. I don't feel bad being hard on this stuff, unlike tippy-toeing around in my montbell gear

Are you still looking G.L.P. ?
A new surplus store opened here last week. I stopped in yesterday to check on these liners but the owner didn't have any in the store yet. He said he's probably got 500 pair in his warehouse and will bring some in next week. $8.00 a pair.

    Just received the M65 pants.

    I personally love them.

For 12 bucks I don't think you can get much better.

IMHO they do need some modding though.

I removed all the buttons down both sides of the legs of the pant and permanently sewed the sides.

I sewed up the crotch hole.

I added channels on the bottom holes of both legs and threaded shock cord through them and put a "cord lock knot" I saw a couple weeks back by someone here.

I added channels on the waist and did the same shock cord and cord lock knot.

I didn't have any grosgrain on hand so I used some scrap sil for the channels.

    Didn't do an initial weight.

    Final weight 13.25 oz

    I got size XL.

Until I can save up $180 for a pair of down pants, these will suffice.

Excellent job on those! I looked a some of those today, but thought I'd hold off for now...I know they're not intended to go down to the ankles but I wish they did. I think they'll be a purchase next month for us.
