Dutch buckle vs elephant trunks vs msh

Trying to decide between a Dutch buckle, elephant trunks, or just using a MSH with toggle.

I weigh 200 lbs and want a very light setup that is reliable and very simple.

Also... Toggle ideas for the MSH? I heard arrow shafts?

Currently using a ring buckle setup and I love the ease of use but I'm trying to shave some weight from my setup.

    Thanks all.

I use both the strap/marlin spike and the elephant trunk(depends on what I grab). Both really work good. Elephant trunks are a touch faster to set up, but the strap/marlin is a little lighter. But not by much.

I went on a hiking trip a couple of weeks ago with OldDog and he gave me a couple of toggles that he had made by cutting large size knitting needles into 3 segments. They worked perfectly and only cost at couple of bucks a Walmart! And, you can get them in all sorts of bright shiny colors!

Mike it might be hard to knit with only one needle though.
Look up before you hook up!!

just my 2 cents but i like the safty of the dutch buckles pluss the weight savings from an elephant is great and the weight gain from a toggle is minimal plus you get the extra security from the buckle vs the MSH and toggle again just my 2 cents

I just use trail sticks. 220 lbs and have never had a problem.

I haven't had any safety issues and I wouldn't call less than half an ounce great. It's a difference of 12 grams for the set. Just saying.
