i'm planning on making a tarp with a cat cut over the ridge line..this, out of cuben. trying to visualize this has become a bit of a stumbling block! i can see that if it were made of streachy sil coated ripstop, the ridge line would just conform to the new shape by just tighten up the stake outs. but in the case of cuben, it's low streach properties shouldn't allow it to do this. and the cat shape has to be built into the ridge. my current plan is to have each side peice of cuben overlap the ridge by about 2-3inches and then bond each seam- this would provide a double layer at the ridge line where i suspect that wear could be an issue.. i said plan because if this two peice approch can't be done i might just make a one peice section that expands the tarp width by about 18inches..this peice would be of a heaver cuben. in either case the shape has to built in ( FWIW i plan on converting the current set up to a "over the tarp" support ridge line in early spring.) so how does one lay this out without compromising the tarps, finnished, ridge seam/line?
