Well my materials came in yesterday and I just couldn't wait to tackle it! I am certainly an amateur and it shows, but it was fun and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I made plenty of mistakes though. But the way I see it, it is my hammock and the mistakes give it personality, and I can try to fix them as I go. The zippers I used are #10 YKK, which I thought would be too big when I saw them at first, but after I installed them, I am glad I went with that size. They glide along easily and make an impressive deep zipper sound
I missed my second row of stitching on one side, it was late and I wanted to go to sleep (in my hammock). So I may tackle that today, that's the beauty of it, now that it is installed I can make minor corrections and tackle small tasks and still have use of it. I have slept the past 19 nights in it and am glad to have the side entry now, sure makes it easier to get up in the middle of the night...if you know what I mean!
