Measurements zLiner 200

I am thinking about making my own version of the zLiner for my NX-250.
The original zLiner is not cheap,bulky and the shipping costs are a killer.
So I thought about making my own out of Insultex.
Does anybody have ( or is willing to make) some good pictures of the zLiner laying flat so I can get an idea about the cut and / or some measurments (esp. the big foot end part. The pockets should be straight foreward).

Best way is to hang the hammock and take measurements from that. Remember to make the pocket liners bigger then you think, due to the fact they are seperated in the middle by stitches and making them bigger will close this gap some.

That's why i hoped to get the original measurements as a starting point.

As I understand Insultex, it is not the right insulation. I don't see how to keep it fast against the hammock bottom in each pillow without deleterious air gaps.

I would start with two pillow cases, some inexpensive batting, and a dozen safety pins. Then, I'd make up pillows of what I guess to be the right size and stuff them in the pockets. Remove, re-pin, and re-try. Finally measure what looks right and leaves minimal gaps.

If the NX-200 is like the NX-250, 2 of the six pockets are one size, and 4 are a bit smaller.

The down-filled 'pads' HF member RAW had made for his NX-250 were, IIRC, finally thought by him to be a bit undersized.

I read about the pillow thing before, but wonder how bulky that turns out. I thought to connect the insultex through the two gaps in the bottom with either velcro or buttons. Connected in the center and and with the velcro on the top it should be possible to get a tight, snug fit
I'd still like to be able to use the pockets as I could with the zLiner, that doesn't seem possible with pillows.
And yes, 4 and 2 pockets arw the same size, in the moment I think to go about an inch wider, and half an inch longer. Mabye I go for another insulation material, depending on availabilety. Down would be a dream, but too difficult for my limited sewing skills and my 60 year old machine...

I was considering adding insulation to my Z-Liner for the NX-250. I was going to cut a poncho liner to the pocket sizes, but double the width and fold it over. Then sew it together with velcro at the top, to add to the Z-Liner when extra insulation is needed. I imagine you can do the same thing without also using a Z-Liner. I don't know how much insulation a poncho liner would add, but with it doubled, it could be pretty warm IMHO. Also you can add reflective material between the folded Poncho Liner to add more warmth. Just sayin....

IMO, Clark does much that is right, but allowing that insulation carried to the point of the foot end would have any measurable benefit to warmth within the hammock beggars one's trust that they tested it.

If you do more than run a new Velcro strip across the hammock, 30-50cm from where the last pocket ends, and insulate that strip, you will be needlessly insulating the extremes of your garage peak expecting to be warmer on your sofa.

When temps finally drop 15-20C from where they are now (near New York), I'll see whether my cheap and chearful pillows don't compare to an UQ.
