First full night hanging, not so great...

Ok so I was able to get away from my wife some how, lol, and sleep in the basement. (I just moved into a house and got away from 3 years of apartment living) I was stoked about it but it really didnt turn out the way I liked. I spend plenty of time in the darn thing and you who of thought right? Well the problem was I just could find my sweet spot. I just keep moving around. I spent the first hour adjusting my straps then the next hour wiggling. At first my neck was craped then my knees feel tight then I just felt all sucked in. So heres what I learned... I need to find my sweet spot. I have yet to find my perfect amount of sag. I totally understand the need for a ridgeline! So hopefully here in the near furture I will be able to figure it all out. Guess this is just all part of the process.

I usually sleep fitfully the first night, much better the second. Of course, I pretty much hang only when I'm hiking or kayaking, and exhausted from the exercise.

Too much excitement more than likely....we all had it the first time!
Get a small pillow and maybe a clothes bag under the knees until the Sweet-Spot comes upon you. Exhaustion helps....
    Carry on...best is ahead.

Thats what my wife said, "If you were on the trail you would be really tired and would be so itchy to get so comfortable"

+1 for the small bag behind the knees, for me. The difference between a good vs bad nights sleep....

I do find my ENO feels a little different than the hammocks I use camping like my WBBB or SBLH. The material of the ENO is great for lounging but because it creates more of a bathtub feel than my other hammocks it's not quite as comfortable for an entire night. I've have slept many nights in it and continue to do so but my other hammocks are a little flatter. YMMV but a ridgeline would definitely help with some consistency and as others have said, add some pillows or whatever to find your comfort. Keep at it.

I would try putting a ridgeline on it first. This give it sag. A loose pocket of fabric to relax in. Eno's are shorter then other hammocks like Warbonnets. So the ridgeline will be shorter then other hammocks.
When I got my Eno, I also tried sleeping in it without a ridgeline. got the same results you got !!!

If you need a RL, I have a extra dynaglide adjustable RL I can send you..
Check out the Hammock Hang Calculator. It will help you get the height and angle right..
It does take some time to get used to hammock sleeping but after awhile you will get where you can just look at your hammock and tell if everything is perfect...it took me about 5-6 nights before I could sleep all night in any hammock, but it was mainly due to me setting it up wrong.. Now I even have a hammock set up in a spare bedroom and one in my family room to sleep in and even my 2yr old son will climb in the hammock to watch his toons and take his naps..
    Happy hanging

    I forgot to add..
When I am just relaxing in a hammock I don't need a pillow but to sleep, I have to have a pillow..
I use a insulated hunting cushion I got from Wallyworld for 3 bucks and it's the perfect hammock pillow.
