    Ridgeline, whats it made of?

So as far as ridgelines go does it matter what they are made of? I always thougth that ridgelines actually took a large bulk of weight so it would be best if it were made of amsteel. Now I keep hearing about dyna glide? If thats what its called. not to sure. If dyna is ok then whats its breaking point and I know that dia will determin that.

Dynaglide is rated to 1000 pounds and is 1.8mm. It makes a great ridge line in a hammock. You can go lower but as small as it is dynaglide works great.

2.2mm lash it/zing it works well to with more neutral colors (grey) and is rated to 650 pounds. Either would be fine, amsteel would be acceptable as well but is overkill.

Your ridgeline supports a tarp (6oz-30oz) or acts as a widow maker odds raiser. No more.

My thought was in using a hammock ridge line as apposed to a tarp ridge line...... perhapse jons could clear up which we are talking about so we can be sure the advise is on point.

If weight saving is the name of the game, then I would think we're talking about a hammock ridge line, because there's no great need for a full ridge line on the tarp.

Call me simple but this statement is over my head, please fill me in. How does a Tarp RL become a widow maker?
