Ideas for a winter tarp with doors.

Not doing cat cuts this time. Just wondering if this idea would work good for
making a big tarp with doors.

Should the side tie-outs be 6' or 6 1/2' apart if the bottom is 12' long?

I have seen a similar design for sale somewhere, but I can't remember where now. I have been considering a DIY of this design, but was thinking that I would make the ridge 10 ft. and the side tie outs 2 ft. in from each corner and maybe one in the middle. I think i will get one of the cheap woodpile tarps from Wally World to make a full size mock up.

Forgot to add my diy hammock is 11' long with a 104" ridgeline.

A 10' tarp ridgeline wont give me enough coverage.

I think you saw the Old Man Winter tarp from Wilderness Logics.. I think they're doors are longer, I don't konw if the foot difference between ridgeline and doors would be enough to have full closing doors.. but I'm surely no expert

Your design plan is similar to the BWDD winter tarp. Just without the Cat. cuts.
I would make your doors 1 foot each. So ridge-line would be 132"(11 ft) and the door length be 156"(13 ft). Tie outs at 6 foot centered. I would also recommend pull outs, 5 foot centered and 18" away from the ridge-line.

With a 11 ft hammock. you might want to make the ridgeline 12 ft instead and your door length would then be 14ft. Tie outs 7ft and pull outs 6ft centered.

With an 11' foot ridgeline - I tend to see winter tarps with a 10' width and a length of 13' for the doors. I believe that the HG Cuben winter tarp has those dimensions.

I only bought 4 yards from DIY, and I should receive it in the mail today or tomorrow.

I was trying to make due but looks like I'm in a pickle.

13' bottom length and 11' ridgeline would work.

How about 126" ridgeline 144" base, tie outs 6' on center and pullouts 5' on center.

    Will this work?

BK You didn't order enough... Even if you were going to make the door length 12ft you would need 8 yards of material to get a 10ft wide tarp. I guessing you already have 4yrd on hand??? Or.. have they come out with 10 foot width material??? THAT would be nice....
