My CRL is about 30' in length.
I usually us about 12 feet coming off each end of the tarp. There is rarely a time when that has not been enough. With a 11 foot ridge line tarp that gives me 35 foot of reach.

My CRL's are about 35 feet. Don't know exactly as I use the old arm length measure.
I've been using about 40' for my CRL, but I live in an area where the pine trees get to be 6' in circumference without even trying.
However, the majority of my trips lead me to believe that I could probably cut that down to about 35' and not lose much in the way of site selection. Maybe I'll get around to it sometime in the next couple of months...

Mine is 40ft to cope with big pines and big spacing. Only twice has it been too short.
Mine is also around the 40' mark. I started with 50' cut off enough to make prusiks for the tarp and for the hooks on the ends etc..... and ended up around 40'. I am in a place where trees can be far apart and large in diameter but have never been let down with what I have.
