MEC Viator down quilt - Would it work well?

The MEC Viator down quilt caught my eye today. I like the price at $132. Very tempting to get to use for a winter underquilt.

    Heres the specs:
    - 575 duck down. queen size

    - When folded in half it has 15cm (almost 6 inches) of loft
    - weight 898g / 2lbs
    - Dimensions 200cm (79 inches) long
    - When folded in half it's 100cm (39 inches).

What do you guys think? Could this be worked with to make an excellent underquilt? What do you think the temperature rating could be?
Do you think when doubled in half it would be wide enough?

Compare with the JRB Mt. Washington 4 which has
77 inches long, and 42 inches wide.

Only one way to find out. The specs say this is a summer quilt. Also says it has stitched through construction so I believe that would reduce its insulating ability.

Personally I would stick to the sales board. I've seen a few HG Phoenixes go for around $160. A bit more but you have 900 fill over the 575, its much much lighter, packs smaller, warmer and is baffled construction. Money is always a deal but you do not want to buy to have to buy soon enough again.
