    Hennessy Cub Zip

The special at Hennessy Hammocks looks like a pretty sweet deal. I am sitting on the fence though......or should I say my wife is. I would buy the Expedition Zip and get the Cub Zip for free. I have 12 Y/O triplets so I can always use more hammocks.
Does anyone out there have and/or use a Cub Zip? How well can they handle wet weather? Can younger kids (teenagers) use them comfortably? Can anyone post some pictures?
I can always wait for the odds & ends sale next year, or watch for a different sale, but this is probably the best deal that will come around. .

    Will have one soon

I don't have one yet, but I have one on order. Just last week I ordered a Safari Deluxe for me and a Cub for my 9 year old son.

I know. I only found this forum a few months ago and had been missing out before. What other deals have Hennessy done in the past? How are the prices on the closeout sale?

I just tried to talk one of my cub scout moms out of buying one. No problem with the hammock other than size. Just like the scout uniform I figure the kid will outgrow the hammock way before they wear it out.

I bought my son an expedition here off the forum and he's just turned 7. Yes, it's kind of big but there's really not much of a weight savings getting the scout or cub model. He can get a very flat lay (when I can get him to lay diagonally). There's plenty of wiggle room. Since it's an adult model I can also use it as a loaner for my smaller friends I'm trying to introduce to hammock camping. It's a win-win.

Hennessy sent me the Scout instead of the Cub, and did the same for my brother inlaw. I was alittle upset at first but got over it very quickly.

I got this cub one with my order. My 10 year old son is 80 lbs, so he'll get a few years out of it. My daughter is 12 and 100 lbs. She might not get much bigger. I'd rather have the scout model, but the cub will do for a few years at least.

I also got a Scout instead of the Cub with my order. I got a bottom entry as well. At first I was a little disappointed about the bottom entry, but then I realised that it is almost certainly better for my sons anyway.

I was certainly not disappointed about getting the Scout instead of the Cub; There's a lot more room for my boys to grow before either of them is too big for it. I might even get another one, but for now only one of my sons comes with me at a time when we camp.

Is it normal for a couple of the mitten hooks to have the inside part clipped off? That's how the clips are on the tarp ridge line. They are basically just hooks now. Since both are like that, I assume it's deliberate. In fact, I'm tempted to do it on a couple of the hooks on my Explorer Deluxe!

I'm curious...anyone have any video or pics of the Cub? I've got a friend that's dropping an order next week.
