I hang the down and sythetics in a upstairs gear room all to itself,,sometimes might put them in their cotton storage sacks, but really like letting them air out hanging. constant temp in the room so its very nice to be able to hang the items you want when you have the room.
I store my quilts in the guest bedroom on the extra bed. I simply lay them out on top so they can loft and breath. I shake them around once a week or so just to move the down around. Granted I am a bit neurotic about my quilts.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
I just hammered a few nails on the inside of my closet door and hang my sleeping bag from that, I hook my UQ up to the clothes bar in said closet and all other gear hangs from assorted hooks/nails as well. Figure since the gear is helping me hang I might as well return the favor when it's not on the clock

Cheap pillow cases at Big Lots, $3 pair. The king fits 0 and 20 deg TQ's or full UQ's. The regular size fits better on 3/4 UQ's or 40 deg full length stuff.

Cedar chips can be had at pet stores, mostly for hamster cages. Put as many as you like in a section of hose any GF or spouse is about to toss because of a run. Tie it off and toss it in the gear closet. I find the chips cheaper and easier to find.
I use very large cotton storage bags to store my sleeping bags, UQ's and TQ's in. Use to use old sailboat sail storage bags but they finally wore out after 30 years.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
