Erg, I was just about to post the same WTB after reading through the other forums. a 40 year old NOS version of the stove just sold on eBay for $125. I should have grabbed that, but I left it for the collectors who aren't going to actually use it.

Anywho, good luck finding your stove. I'll wait till you find one before I post my WTB so we aren't stepping over each other.

I've been watching eBay and they generally seem to go for 30-40 plus shipping....that's for a stove that's in working order but maybe isn't new looking anymore...anyways good luck to us both oh and if you don't mind dropping like $100 then you can buy a new one from campmor.com

I've been rounding up some of these old stoves lately. It isn't hard to make them look new again....vinegar and Brasso. Cleaning the guts, carb cleaner and methyl alcohol. Pipe cleaners.
    I haven't repainted/refinished a case though (8r types) and probably wont.
A prediction---the Asians are starting to collect these stoves in a hurrid way-Japanese and Koreans mostly-one almost beat me on my latest round of biding-so I predict the prices will continue to rise as older stoves become even more rare.
That said the SVEA can be had new as posted above and it is a bombproof stove that can literally turn into a bomb though incredibly rarely so. Another cool thing is that Coleman says their fuel is good 7 years in a sealed container-but many anecdotal stories of 30 year old fuel in stoves found in a barn still firing up.
Speed? Well these old white gas burners won't compare to an XGK or an Optimus Nova but the cost/burn is economical compared to canisters.

I have a Taiwanese knockoff that I keep for motorcycle camping. Always plenty of fuel!

I have several of these from varing ages, and as said they are bombproof, I run mine on panel wipe which is a lot cheaper than coleman fuel here in the UK and scarily the same.

If you are cleaning one I would not use Brasso, just use vinagar and don't leave the brass parts in for too long or it will discolour the brass!

The opinion of the newly made stove on Spiritburner (a stove forum) are that they are a poor copy of the originals, that said I have not tried any.

I use mine on all of my trips they almost always beat a modern stove such as an MSR to the boil, but they do not do a lot for peace and quiet. To make them more usable than with just the standard cup I buy Camping Gaz Globetrotters, throw away the burner and you have 2 pans which will hold the SVEA, its standard cup, handle, pump (if you use one) and your favorite lighting method inside. Almost like they were made for each other.

I will post some pics when I get home if you like

I have a 40 year old one and a brand new one and they seem very similar in quality. I am looking to acquire another made in Sweden R version but until then I'm set for now.

To the OP, good luck finding what you are looking for.
