Hey guys, I would like to use my automatic button holer to make button holes in polar fleece. It works fine with sil or ripstop, but when I try to use it with fleece, it just sits there and makes one big wad of thread----kind of like it cant move the fabric around like its supposed to. Any suggestions? Has any one else ever had this problem?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Shug, are you talking about raising the pressure foot---like you would do when you first put cloth into the machine?

Shug, are you suggesting that the feed dog can't move the fleece, so one would need to move it through the machine manually?
The issue probably is polar fleece is a very stretchy fabric. It may be the feed dogs are not moving the fabric just stretching it. Polar fleece is not a fabric that takes kindly to buttonholes. You would most likely want to stabilize the area to keep the finished buttonhole from stretching out of shape. So do that first by running a piece of ribbon along the button placket (where the button holes will be) and then put the ribbon side down to stitch the buttonholes.
