So, apparently my family saw me say something about hammockforums on Facebook... and for Xmas in my stocking I got... an ENO single nest... so that's one piece of the puzzle out of the way... still gonna DIY the tarp and the bug net but the good news is:
I've got a hammock now!
welcome to the madness
the puzzel has just started
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Welcome to relaxation
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Welcome from another Wisconsin hanger. From Green Bay, WI here. Enjoy the forums. Alot of info here, and alot of great folks!!!
Fronkey, that bug net looks simple and awesome - I had seen other plans and was not too excited about zippers - yours is awesome and I'm definitely making it - I have some bug netting material but I'll have to measure it - it's in two rectangles so I'd have to stitch the two pieces together along the ridgeline - I'll work on it once I find a sewing machine to borrow
I'll end up making whoopies eventually, already "borrowed" a crochet hook from my GF for splicing - I've begun making a DIY materials list for my projects so I can buy lots of stuff at once to save on shipping, in the meantime I ditched those crazy heavy 'biners and replaced 'em with those chain links that have a threaded side for connecting chains - the ones I have on there are rated for 660lbs and weigh a lot less than the 'biners that come w/the eno...
