    Overnight hang in Alabama Question

Planning a trip to visit daughter that will take me through Alabama (probably Feb or March) and thinking about stopping over night at either Oak Mt State Park or Tannehill State Park.

Wanted to know if anyone has camped out in their hammocks at either place.

    Comments/recommendations appreciated.

oak mountain is not that great. campsites are fairly unkept and many are in low swampy, buggy areas. tannehill would be my preference. also cheaha is the best.

Between Oak Mountain and Tannehill, I prefer Tannehill.

If you are coming into Alabama via I20, you will be passing right by Cheaha.

If you are heading west on 20/59 wanting to make B'ham, Tannehill will be your best bet.....the others are about 20 to 25 minutes out of your way. Tannehill is just past B'ham, but if you are not really pressed for time, Cheaha is by far the most scenic.
