Great job, Gunn! What don't you like about the down/feather mix? I was contemplating salvaging the same from an old comforter.

There is nothing really wrong with this type of fill I think, I have another two old doonas I will salvage more feather from.
It is easy to salvage, but don't do as I did and open up the whole doona and spill it into the bath and then pick it up again and put into plastic bags. Next time I will leave it in the doona until I need it The feather is heavier and does not compress as well as down.
So you your not worried about the extra weight and you have a larger pack or you are car camping then go for it.
