For measurements for making a DIY TQ I created a spread sheet you could add your desired finished specs & it does the math for you (size of shell, total down & down per chamber) & posted it here.

Only difference I saw from Te-wa's howto is that I calculate baffle material height assuming a rolled hem.

My wife gives me the same look when I ask her to teach me sew, as I give her when she uses one of my good Snap-On screwdrivers as a pry bar.

How did you sew the baffles to the top shell? Did you just start at one end and work your way down the quilt ? Also where did you get the down fill?

Don't know the answer to your first question. But you can find down and other insulation here: http://thru-hiker.com/materials/insulation.php

Yes, you work your way down (or up or across) the quilt. Make sure everything is good with the first baffle before you move on to the next.

Down can be ordered from a number of common HF suppliers.

It really helped me to lay out all the stitches/lines first with masking tape. Not only did it give me a visual that everything would work before I started sewing, but it also gave the thin fabric some rigidity which helped a lot with sewing. Just make sure you don't sew over the tape
