Great video as always Shug and with lots of humor.
And a hammock with the UQ glued on must be the way to go.
    Thanks for sharing.

Another great video Shug. Tim was in fine company for his first flight in a hammock. That cuben rig looks frighteningly light. I like the willingness to experiment 'in the field'.

Once again - A great way to spend the wee hours with my morning cup-o-joe.

Thanks again and kudos to all that made the venture

Magic stuff Shug, is Timmy going to be joining our ranks then?

I was toying with sending you a stove but after seeing your collection I don;t think there's much point.

Looking forward to more Shug winter trips

kudos to the new hammocking crew! Takes a bit of gumption to head out into the frosty woods for a first time hammocking experience in see-your-breath temperatures.

Watching this from the not-so-frosty southwest this morning, a bit of vicarious living you gave me, thanks!

Looks like it was a lot of fun. That cuben hammock with integral underquilt is something else, that's for sure.

I might have to try and get up into Georgia or Alabama next year during the deep winter and see what it's like to hang in below-freezing temps. Hopefully I'll have my gear dialed in for that by then.

Did you wind up scorching your camera there at the beginning? Or did it come out unscathed?

Thanks for some fun over coffee this morning!

I liked that shot of ya'll on the hill pulking away. It was a fun short trip.

That cuben hammock is pretty cool, I like the vent tube idea.
I only have three hammocks....one more on the way though.
Had just enough kit to get timmy through this cold.

I did notice at the end though… You really DON’T have enough stoves! One I didn’t see was a JetBoil… Maybe your next…?

    Thanx again Shug!
I do have a Snowpeak GigaPower canister stove but it does not like to hang out with the alcohol stoves or wood stoves. It used to be my go to and is a fine burner.

That’s a lot of stoves, but not too many. I don’t think there’s such a thing as too many or too much hammock gear. Minus 1 is craaazy talk! Still, I think your record was minus 20F, which is of course, top shelf crazy. Plus 41F is about my lower limit. lol You’re one tuff cookie, Mr Shug! I liked you juggling mishap at the start... “Uh, get it away from me!” lol

After watching your trip report, I watched a 6 minute video staring you! I enjoyed it and thought other Hammock Forums members will enjoy it too. So, I added a link to it below... I hope you don’t mind:

We are gonna build Timmy a hammy 'fore he heads back over to N. Ireland. He loved it, loved it, loved it.
To be specific I was in -26º F >>>>>>>>> I'll take all those degrees!

It does take the gear and some confidence to truly enjoy it.

He said the cuben hammock is 26.5 without suspension.
Yes Timmy is a Natural in the hammy.

I had a blast out there with everyone! I don't even want to call Timmy and db noobs because they went sub-zero so fast.

It was a great time meeting everyone and I'm sure we'll get out and do one of this quick trips again soon.

Thanks again for the spud and shortbread. Timmy, really great meeting you dude and best of luck with those one handed hand stands. :P
