Another great video Shug. Tim was in fine company for his first flight in a hammock. That cuben rig looks frighteningly light. I like the willingness to experiment 'in the field'.

kudos to the new hammocking crew! Takes a bit of gumption to head out into the frosty woods for a first time hammocking experience in see-your-breath temperatures.

Looks like it was a lot of fun. That cuben hammock with integral underquilt is something else, that's for sure.

I might have to try and get up into Georgia or Alabama next year during the deep winter and see what it's like to hang in below-freezing temps. Hopefully I'll have my gear dialed in for that by then.

Did you wind up scorching your camera there at the beginning? Or did it come out unscathed?

Frozen fun followed by some stove porn. Made me want to move from my cozy indoor hammock to the backyard and fire up one of the alkies.

Ahhhh...spoken like a poet. Stoves make me smile but I am set for sure.

Shug: It doesn't count unless you say "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!" but no really cool video... I just wonder how many complete setups you have back in the shed... hrmmmm.
That cuben hammock is pretty cool, I like the vent tube idea.

I only have three hammocks....one more on the way though.
Had just enough kit to get timmy through this cold.

I do have a Snowpeak GigaPower canister stove but it does not like to hang out with the alcohol stoves or wood stoves. It used to be my go to and is a fine burner.

Timmy the Natural, made it through the night unscathed, as he put it. I wonder if he liked hamocking enough to keep hanging. Working the pots, cooking up a storm, he’s a natural born hammocker, if I ever saw one. The green hammock looks interesting. Oh and how about all thoughs camp stoves, you must have 15 or 20 of them! That’s a lot of stoves, but not too many. I don’t think there’s such a thing as too many or too much hammock gear. Minus 1 is craaazy talk! Still, I think your record was minus 20F, which is of course, top shelf crazy. Plus 41F is about my lower limit. lol You’re one tuff cookie, Mr Shug! I liked you juggling mishap at the start... “Uh, get it away from me!” lol

Those last minute trips are the best and we had fine Fellowship.

I had a blast out there with everyone! I don't even want to call Timmy and db noobs because they went sub-zero so fast.

It was a great time meeting everyone and I'm sure we'll get out and do one of this quick trips again soon.
