True indeed, Thanks again for saving the surplus military crampons!
Whether it is a short trip or a long one, it'll be a bumpy ride up there.

I have my pulk if anyone wants to use it, I added runners to it just after last years trip. Still working on an elegant solution for the poles, at the moment it is stacked fiberglass rods. Better than last years idea, but look silly. I still want to add a backslide arrestor to it, but its basically ready to go. I am doing this trip completely out of my pack.

SPEAKING OF WHICH, After trying and failing to bring very much wood up last year, I wonder what the best option would be to try and warm up our experience a bit without chewing up much space in my pack. So; what do you guys think is the best option for generating controlled heat, for instance inside the shelter at Roan?

    1) bushbuddy style stove burning charcoal (yea, carbon monoxide, I know)
    2) larger alcy stove (yea, carbon monoxide, I know)
    3) coleman style propane stove (yea,...)

And of course I understand that we have no idea what the weather will be like. It could be 60 degrees and sunny. But if I start planning out with last year as a guide, I know I cant be too far off.

Buy food and drink for The Belgian, so that he'll bring a pulk load of firewood up the hill.

That could be an option. It worked well last year!

I'm new to hanging but not the outdoors and this sounds like a real good time. I'd definitely be up for this. Depending on conditions and my poor knees I may or may not do the hike to Overmountain. If not I'll probably stay in place and do some day hikes around that way if anyone else isn't up to going elsewhere they'll have another option if they so choose and can meet up with those that do go to Overmountain later on. I've been lurking for awhile now and it'll be interesting to meet people whose videos and stories I've seen, read, and been inspired by.
