When I was a little db144 I used a candle for sealing seams. I would drag the candle over the seams until a uniform layer covered each seam. This sealed the seams effectively until it wore off with use. It has several advantages over modern seam sealers namely that is applies easily, is cheap, and needs no drying time. The only disadvantage is that it does need to be reapplied from time to time. I thought I'd pass this on as an alternative method.
