    why not just make a loop useing a fig8knot? at least untill you're sure you want a perm set of tree straps out of this stuff??

    Knots greatly reduce the strength of the webbing plus i would require more length to tie a knot rather than sew the webbing and more length means more weight.

    I've relied upon double figure 8 knots in 1 inch and 2 inch webbing for 3 point bombproof rappelling anchors so they are fine for hammocking use LOL

    You're right about the length though, My stock hennessy treehuggers were reduced in length by at least 10cm and they don't look as pretty as sewn ones.
