I'm new to hammock camping in that I've been camping with others who camp with hammocks but I've never slept in one myself. Hammock Forums' member Lonely Raven, who I know from another forum, referred me to these forums.
I'm interested in camping in a variety of climates including the Winter and have been lurking for a short time on the forums. I hope to gain some knowledge and if I'm lucky, pick up some used gear from other, more experienced hammock campers in the For Sale area.

Greetings from central IL. There are a few hammockers here in Illinois, we even go out in the dead of winter when we get the chance. Where in this great flat state are you located. I can point you to some areas in the central region if you are so incline to go, in fact, I would be interested if the timing is right.

Welcome to the forum....I am a Chicago area guy that has been doing the hammock thing for about a year now. It's a great way to camp!
