Last trip I forgot my carabiners and threaded the strap through the loop. Took a little more time. I like the speed and adjustability of my 'biners (actually Dutch Clips).

My new tree straps have soft shackles where the biners were... Not sure how it will work but we shall soon see...
I've just converted my HH to include whoopie slings, and I think I'm going to need a karabiner to attach the whoopies to the tree straps, aren't I?
I looked at a ring and spike attachment, but, to use the whoopie sling properly, the line has to slide around the attachment, and there was a lot of friction with the ring and spike, and a lot less with the karabiner.............or have I missed something?

You can use a carabiner in the strap end loop or use a marlin spike hitch anywhere along the length of the strap.
