You can get a couple 6' pieces of webbing from walmart for like 1.99 a piece. They're in the camping section and have hardware on them, take them off and tie a loop on one end. If you have a sewing machine, sew one in. They haven't stretched on me so I assume they're polyester and I've had to use them in a pinch when I lost one my HG tree huggers. Worked nicely and in fact also used the same thing at the Ohio Winter Hang a few days ago. You can also use the toggles from a tent repair kit for like 2.99 and you get some seem sealer too! Hope this helps

Oh yeah. This is a must for weight reduction and ease of use. I actually just have a locked brummel eye on the end into the hammock, then the other end goes into the hugger finished off with a marlin spike hitch.

if you already switch to polyester or polypro webbing you no not need additional tree huggers....the webbing will go around the tree(assuming 1" wide)

I did it too. It only takes a couple of minutes. The benefits are in weight savings and faster setup.

    Peace,

Quick and easy. Then pimp out your hang with Dutch Wear.

What's the weight of a DN with like six foot whoopies?

The whoopies weigh next to nothing...especially compared to what it comes stocked with. As for the weight of the DN, I've never weighed it naked; without all of the stuff on it, but you could probably find at the manufacturer and/or Google it. Though our gram wienies can probably help you also. The whoopies are a great upgrade regardless.

I'm pretty sure the weight on their site includes those biners they sell with it.. That's why I'm curious what it weighs without or with whoopies.
