Hello all, My name is John, and I am a newbie. I have been reading from the side lines for a few months. I even tried my hand at a DIY hammock, with embarrassing results. I'm what some would call a big guy, 6'2" and 280lbs. Well apparently I purchased the wrong type of rip stop nylon. I ended up with my butt ripped thru the bottom of the hammock. I also made my own tree huggers, and alum toggles.
Now to my question, My parents went to the local Outdoors supplier "National Chain" and purchased me an ECO Single Nest, Bug Net, and those evil straps. I think I'm going to return them all and go to Amazon and get a double nest and bug net. Then go to whoopie slings, and get some slings. I'll end up about 20 ahead. Is there a cheaper way to go about this, or is there something out there that would be a better hammock?
Thank you
John
