Hello fellow hangers. My name is Kerry and I have been hanging for about three years now. I live in Tampa, Fl and frequent the parks and trails within about a 70 mile radius of my home. One day a few years ago, I was in the local Army surplus store and saw a mosquito hammock and I just had to try it. I have not set foot inside a tent since. I finally, this week, replaced that heavy hammock with a No-See-Um-No-More by Bliss. I can’t wait to get out there and try my new toy.
Since I’m in Florida, I camp year round. Some of you may be tough enough to handle those cold weather hangs up north, but not me. I am allergic to snow. In fall and winter I back-country camp at J.B. Starkey, Withlacoochee River, and Hillsborough River parks. In the spring and summer, I have a secret spot on an island on Tampa Bay that overlooks the Gulf.
I am excited to learn from all of you and possibly meet some other hangers out and about. I have never met anyone else who uses a hammock, but I’ve heard that I’m not the only one. As far as I know, this site could be an elaborate deception or I could be dreaming.
I look forward to getting to know all of you.
Kerry
