    connecting whoopies and RL

Ok so I'm trying to hook up my RL whith my whoopies. I have been given some really good idea but I'm wondering how everyone else is doing it. I'm thinking about using a continuous loop through the sewn ends then a ring. From there attaching whoopies and RL to the ring. Thing is I would like to get away from the rings and loops. I know I could take to RL and go strait to the whoopies but how will the rubbing go over in the long run?

Please.. maybe just one or two.... pics

ridgeline over the whoopies like you say should not create rubbing, it pretty much locks in once loaded. if you want a fixed system, that should work just fine.

The rubbing is what I was afraid of.

    jons4real...you're too kind

In perusing a few other threads, I also came across the one of
Dutch Buckles vs Elephant hooks as an option....
although after seeing your question again, I might be looking at the other end of the suspension and not answering your question at all

You could just feed the fixed eye of your whoopie through the end channel of the hammock and the end loop of the RL and then larkshead the fixed eye of the whoopie.

I thought of this but idk.... for some reason I just have reservations about it. I guess because I'm just a big guy I want to make sure I distribute weight as mush as possible. It seems that if I place whoopies through sewn end then loop RL around whoopie that would place alot of tension right at the sewn end. Also I'm finding that I like alot of sag so I wnd up with a really tight RL. It does seem like the easiest way to go about it though.

The tree hugger I part I think I got figured out if just the attachment point of the RL. Considering how tight it has been the last few times I used it I need to find a way to distribute best I can.

With proper hang angles the SRL should not be extremely tight. If the SRL is extremely tight, it indicates that the suspension is tighter than ideal for the desired sag.

Here's a photo of a SRL looped over the whoopie sling in the simplest manner...
