what is the best method to hand 3 hammocks together as close as possible. Its me and my 2 young sons, so I want to be as close as possible to them.
This is for backpacking but I am thinking maybe its lighter, less work, to get a 2 or 3 man lightweight tent. Any opinions?
In my head, I see a spreader bar that has one eyelet screwed into the tree side, and three on the hammock side. You could hang the 3 hammocks from two trees this way, but I am thinking this could lead to a bad teter-tottering incident....hmmm, what if you could anchor down the ends with stakes? Would that keep the board from wobbling?

you can use rope between other trees but you wont get them all under one tarp very well
go to page #16 of "my gallery", & you'll see several shots of a time we used 4 trees to hang 3 hammocks.
]one shelter - only problem w/ this set-up (other than finding the right trees) is the large open ends. blowing rain could be a problem if not covered. Hammock Forums Gallery

I have hanged 3 hammocks from 4 trees before just like the picture in post 3. Sorry I would have pictures, but that was the hike that it rained and then my stuff was stolen.
It worked really well, and we all enjoyed it.
