I would like to order a UQ before I do I have a couple of questions. Will the full UQ 40* fit a Hennessy Explorer with the zipper option and can you make a UQ with Climashield? If you have time please PM me with the cost?

I also have a question, i guess its more for top quilts in general but... if i were to get the 0* flight jacket, could i still use it in 40* and up or would i like... die because it would be so hot, and if so would a 20* be better
You can always "vent" yourself.
Think of it like this, if you've a large comforter/blanket on your bed do you have to be wrapped up in it all the time or can you stick and arm/leg out to help with temperature regulation? Same with a top quilt.
Huh, I guess that makes sense, didn't even think of venting, thanks for the response
if this is a winter quilt you should get the 0F but if this is a 3 season you should get the 20F. you also need to pay attention/thought of pack size for each. a 0F quilt will take up a lot more space and most people winter camping are either doing it via car along side their site or pulling a pulk due to additional gear and the volume it takes up. you'd need a large volume pack 80L or larger to carry 2 0F quilts + gear + clothing.
you could vent with a 0F quilt but you'll more than likely be sleeping in your skimpy's due to how hot you be.

A Zero Degree or a 20 degree for that matter,,won't work for me in summer heat and humidity, even venting..,,I have to have several different temp rated quilts to cover the seasons that I am hammocking in and find that there is no perfect "1" top quilt or Under Quilt that will do it all..no matter how much you vent. Just my opinion of course. And there is a reason, there are different temp rated UQ and TQ's that are being made and sold by our cottage manufacturers to suffice our personal needs.
UQs will work with most hammocks manufactured including Hennessy Hammocks that have the zipper side entry. I currently only work with down quilts at this time.
While it could be done personally I'd be too hot with a 0*F TQ at 40*F. Perspiration could become an issue using a 0*F quilt at temps above 40*F wetting out TQ or UQ reducing it's effective rating and warmth.
Hope that answer the questions for you...
Hi Everyone.... Great response to the opening sale, thanks to every one that has placed an order or expressed interest in a quilt. I'm currently taking orders for delivery late Jan with the backlog of I have received. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on expected lead time.
If a quilt needs to be expedited for an upcoming trip I'm sure we can work something out...
Again, thanks to everyone for the great welcome to the forum for Underground Quilts & Outdoor Gear. I hope to serve many of you through out the upcoming New Year....
Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Year in 2012...
Paul, I am having trouble understanding which UQ's are on sale. Bear with me I am old and have only one active brain cell
I am looking at the full UQ 40*
