    WTB Merino Wristies

    Hey guys and gals,

All some people want for Christmas is their two front teeth, but since mine are still going strong, I've had something else on the brain.

    Wristies.

I can't find anything good! I'm looking for a Merino Wool pair with partial palm coverage ideally - and I'd also love to find the slightly stretchy, thinner, open palm wristies made famous by Shug (just after him sharing that you can't find 'em anymore - go figure ) and some expedited shipping options would be even better (on my dime of course) since I'm leaving for a little trip the day after Christmas.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

I found some 10" polartec fleece wrist gaiters made by Cagoule online ! They are onsale $9.00 and some change shipped to my door from west coast to eastcoast for $3.00 in a mere three days ! Standard mail ! I love them! They wrap around the thumb just like shugs! When you first search them the other size wristies will come up and they are regular price look for the clearanced ones! http://www.cagoulefleece.com/
I wish you happy holidays I wish I was hitting the trail that soon myself!

Rook, if you wouldn't mind doing a little DIY mod, here's what I've been using for wristies from my cycling clothes bin; a set of woolie arm warmers from Perl Izumi. I've been meaning to hand stitch some 1/16" shock cord around the cuff for the fingers but just havent' gotten around to it. 8$ seems reasonable and they're way comfy, I've sometimes slid them on with just a tee shirt to sleep in. The best part is they're stretchy and stay put.

Thanks guys! I ordered a pair from the link moondoggy recommended - hopefully they make it in time. I still would love a merino pair - and a stretch pair.

    Too bad I'm DIY illiterate!

One advantage of wool wristies when dealing with a wood fire & embers is that natural fibers won't melt on your skin like synthetics. I like the sound of modifying the Perl Izumi arms

    Ask and ye shall receive:

Merino Wool wristies. They call them hand gauntlets. Pricey

There's also the Possumdown Glovelet which is a possum/merino blend.

Yikes, the wool wristies are expensive. Add in shipping. We need to cut up wool socks and darn around the edges with yarn. Or sew edging. Grizz! Make a video please!!! Knotty ??? Shug??? Anyone ! ! !
