Yeah, what bloom said. Should be fine. Heck, I'd be too warm with that combo, but I sleep really warm anyway.

I like merino as a base next to the skin. But I like the feel of merino wool. Not everybody does. It insulates and wicks moisture well, and the odor free qualities beg it to be next to the skin.

Begs the layering question: do you wear merino on the skin or compression on the skin and layer with the other. I would think compression first then merino wool over that!
I don't wear anything that is compressible, I usually wear a wicking shirt, patagonia cap 4 wool shirt and my down jacket and if need shell over that. For pants its just my insulated northface freedom pants and if needed my down pants as a base. I run hot though so you may need more layering but I would tend to stay away from things that are compressed as a base layer.
Also, a big deal breaker are boots..make sure you can just stand there without getting cold, moving around is a different thing but there is a lot of standing.

Ok to restate Stone I am a maybe but probably going to be an IN. I can't get a straight answer out of my maybe house guests for that weekend so I think they will just find a key under the mat and a note on the kitchen table so. As for my experience I would say limited at best.

We are supposed to get 5-10" between tonight and Friday evening. We'll see if it sticks around.

    Winter hang

How far from the cars is the parking going to be during the hang? I hope somewhat close, so for us newbies we can overpack a bit and have options once we are there.
