As far as the wood goes, its looks like it will be $65/rick for seasoned wood. Do we want more than 1 rick (4' x 8' x log length)?
Its a proven fact that 78.4% of all statstics are made up on the spot.

That's a face cord, never heard it called a rick and a log is normally 16" or so long. I would think one face cord would be enough for a friday night fire and then all day saturday unless wildcrafter wakes up early

    Donating

With all the talk about people making food and bringing wood, not sure if I need to bring anything other than our sleeping and hiking gear. I will for sure be bringing money to help some of the people donating community things. Sounds like a great weekend so far. Can't wait, see you Saturday morning.

Up north we call it a "rick", its ok though we dont hold things like that against you.

So what are the tolerances on the 16" log? Cause if its out of spec we'll send it back.

I'll order two "ricks" of wood to be safe.

Better leave the high tech clothing far from the fire

At least bring a wool blanket for an over cover from sparks

I have been the witness to shrink wrap nylon, burned boot bottoms, and goose explosions

It won't hurt to have extra food and snacks to pass.

Up north, dude you're from ludington.

    Grandfather holds me to +/-1"

Well with 2 FACE CORDS there surely won't be snow within 20ft of the fire ring. I like big fires

Does anyone know if sprint has 3g up there? I'd like to be the first to post when tom's tyvek tarp, if he brings it, takes flight again

I'm from Detroit (Where the weak are killed and eaten) , but I have spent the most of my years in Alpena and the UP, so I'm from Up North. We'll have the 2 "ricks" delivered right to the site.

I talked to the lady at the Sprint store, she says she uses her 3G phone on the trails and never has a problem. You may only get a few bars, but you will have service.
