Silnylon for a hammock? Ye or Ne

I read somewhere on here that silnylon is no good for a hammock as it doesnt breath well but I just ordered some for a tarp project and wanted to try a hammock. Can this be used? Has anybody done it on here with silnylon?

I am useing a old military wool blanket underneath me in the hammock as some insulation so I would think this will keep the sweating down?
    Thanks

I have a silnylon hammock hanging in my bedroom right now, and I've spent a handful of nights in it in the field...it's worked out great so far. I live in Colorado, though, where it's dry and generally cool...I don't think I'd use it the humid Georgia summer.

Sweating in it hasn't been a problem for me so far. But if you sweat a lot, wool will still insulate when it's moist from sweat, so that's a good choice.

Thanks for the reply! I dont sweat much and I would be in a mummy bag on the wool. I appretiate your feedback and hope to get some others opinions. Thanks again

    Why?

I wonder why you want to try a sil hammock? Is it just because you have the material and/or like the feel of it? Regular ripstop should be cheaper unless you have some new source of sil. HYOH, if it works for you it works.

Ya I wanted to try it just because its the material I will have and I got it for 3 dollars a yard so it was pretty well priced. I hear ya about the "try it if it works for you it works" I just didnt want to waste the material if for some reson it was a bad decision other than the moisture issues. Thanks
