Welcome from one of many on this side of the Atlantic that can trace their ancestory to Scotland. I had never sewn anything until I joined this forum. Explore DIY, it's not as hard as you might imagine. I'm still and will continue to be learning, it's half the fun!!

    Hi MW,

I'm sure the roller coaster is bouncier than usual today!

Just get in touch when you have an idea what your shift pattern will be and when might be a good time. I work Monday-Friday so it would need to be weekends for me.

'PM' would be best just in case a forum reply drops down the list before I've had a chance to see it.

    Cheers
    D

    Welcome!

and does it help any to view the videos?

I know, I had trouble at first , especially when people were describing
    their ridgelines, etc
I found the You Tube videos, esp Shug's to be helpful.
Also, if people post things for sale, their adjunct vids help as well.

Also, you are pretty much good to go with Whoopie Slings.

Every other choice as far a hammock or tarp or UQ or TP have a slew of
    options.
Just research the bejeezuz out of them and pick one and go from there.

DIY is also and excellent way to lure the hook into you

    Hello from the Central Belt!

There seems to be a rapidly growing collection of us. If you're confused (Like I was... who am I kidding, still more-than-occasionally am) set half a day aside and fall in love with Shug's videos. No. Seriously. Hammocking is a whole lot less initimidating after an hour of so of information, clear video, and the lovely sound of "Whoooo Buddy!" announcing the fact that you've started another one...whether you meant to or not. Oh, go on, just one more video.

Any more questions, I've found that theres a lot of stuff lurking around these boards that is crazy useful, as well as folks on here that will answer your stuff asap.

On a fellow Scots note, where abouts are you hanging? Just a fellow, nosey Scot trying to steal some sweet tips

    Anyways- Welcome!
