I'm heading up Thursday morning. Gonna be baking for Saturday night, now I just have to remember the butter. I dare everyone to leave their sunscreen at home, then maybe Murphy's law will kick in.

Oh yea, for more info see http://www.nps.gov/buff/planyourvisit/

And depending on how much wood is left on that trailer Old Gringo, my little truck may pull that trailer out for ya.

jbrianb and I should be headed out mid morning from west TN. I haven't mapped it out yet, but I'm guessing we'll get there mid to late afternoon. If I can get all these orders taken care of.LOL
    It'll be alright Friday!

Ugh. I've no access to anything bigger/more suited for mud than a Hyundai Accent. I'm incredibly skeptical of its ability to get up that hill if it's wet. -_-

It's not muddy, at least as I remember it. Mostly gravel...my problem, if there is one, is my Chevy van, which is light in the rear end. Hook up a trailer, and it gets a little dicey. Your Hyundai should do okay. Remember, this is a National Park, not a logging road out in BFE.

And yes, I'll be sleeping in a van down by the river.

It's rained each of the previous two years we've had this hang and no one has been left behind, (at least none that we're talking about. )

Shouldn't be much of a mud problem as most of the dirt should be washed away.

Seriously, the vehicles that have had problems were those with poor traction like Gringo's van. I expect that the road itself as mostly packed gravel should be quite doable.

In addition, it's not just one continuous steep incline, there are places where it's steep, then levels a bit then steep again so running starts on the steep spots can be done.

The first year we went, our front wheel drive soccer mom van tires started spinning and not gripping on one section of the hill so I just backed up, got a running start and made it up fine. Last year we had significantly more rain and we got up the hill with no drama. ( Either due to the slick dust/mud being washed off the surface or because I attacked the hill more agressively than the previous year.)

Anyway, the hill is part of the camp lore and provides stories to tell those who don't come.

The mobile condo sounds like just the ticket for this potentially very wet weekend See ya down there.

I've been to Kyle's three or four times. I'm just wary of the road being washed out.

Have lots of fun I will be looking for reports after the hang. I know that there will not be many during the hang as Kyle's if of the net.
