Another BIG Thanks to DrPappy for the help in planning this hike ..

BW, I am driving up to Kyles Landing on HW7 Thursday morning, I can make a detour and pick u up on the way Thur mid morning if interested.
I've section hiked the OHT and I guess my favorite area is the Hurricane Creek area starting at Haw Creek Falls. I normally backpack 5.5 miles in during Spring and small mouth fish. great place.

From what I've seen on the BRT maps. The East BRT starts at Woolum and heads east to HY65. The West side is Pruitt heading West through Kyles landing... There no trail between Pruitt and Woolum that I see... If anyone see something different, please correct

Thanks for offer .. I might need a ride out of the hang .. I'll be hiking the OHT as a thru-hike .. about 165 miles .. then upstream off-trail along the Buffalo River .. picking up the BRT in Pruitt ..

So, in terms of roads and campsites, how high is/was the water?

Great looking crowd planning on attending. It may be time to get serious about bamboo stand construction.

To get from the state highway to the campground area there is a very steep, very long hill. Not so steep that I couldn't make it up and down in Hyundai Accent... but steep none the less. So the way in should be safe, it's the camping area itself we'd be concerned with. I don't have that answer but I hope that assuages some of your trepidation.

I'm guessing the lower half of camp sites were under water. It comes up quick and goes down a little slower. Where we camp was OK,, I think.
Several miles down river around Woolum and lower it jumped from 3.5' to 20+'. hope no one was on the trail next to the water...

Thanks for the response. I've been up and down that hill a number of times, so no worries. I meant to be more specific in my question about roads though. I was referring to the parking area at the base of the hill between the upper area and the restroom and down closer to the lower sites where the outhouse is located. More a matter of curiosity than worry, (not telling my wife or the worry will kick in quickly ).

So that means the out house should be nice and rinsed out then.

With as many as are coming and my normal late arrival, I'm more concerned about trees than flooding. We may be so far up the hill out of the camp ground proper rising water would not be an issue.
