Ok so the last 2x I've slept in my hammock I have been woken up and forced out of bed by horrible bladder pains. I mean it freaking hurts and until I get up to relieve myself that's no helping it. This had never happened to me before and I figure It's on account of how I'm laying. I'm trying to Lay as flat a possible so I don't understand what's so different about sleeping in the hammock. I mean Im just like everyone else, in the morning rituals but come on.
I've felt that as well. I figured its because I tend to stay awake longer in my hammock and listen to everything. In that time I tend to reach for my water bottle alot more. Then when its time to get up I'm a no go. It's to comfy in here and to cold out there. So i'll hit the mental snooze button for abit. That's when the bladder pain hits and I have to get up.

I hear ya but this is a bit over the top. I can hold out for awhile myself but not when I'm hanging. My father in law seems to believe it had something to do with my kidneys and my get being higher than my heart... Idk
I'd see a doctor.
See a doctor. Depending on his advice, you might also consider additional insulation in the kidney/lower back region of your hammock.
Is this strictly hammock related, never happening when you sleep elsewhere?
This has only happened twice and both times were in the hammock several days apart. Hasn't ever happened outside of the hammock .Originally Posted by BillyBob58

i only ask because i found i go more while hanging... it's your bodies way of keeping you warm could be it's just a lot at one time but i'm not a Doctor so i couldn't really tell you
try hanging in the house if you can and see if it happens again
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
I haven't had horrible bladder pains but i do find i have to go a lot more often when sleeping in a hammock in colder weather. The other night it was 4-times I thought this is crazy then my buddy who slept the first night in his hammock told me he had to go 7-times. We were only drinking water & hot cocoa. I thought it was due to body position but like someone mentioned it is probably due to the coldness/temperature.
