Would like to take a trip to Pt Reyes, but don't know which camp or campsite # that has trees to hang from. There would be 3 of us that will be hanging. Has anyone done a hang out there?

There was a trip report on youtube about Pt. Reyes and I believe the hammocker had to do a little stealth camping that was not in a designated campsite.
My only trip was in '07 tenting, I'm sifting through my pic's but see very few if any suitable trees near the coast camp or other beach areas. Here's one of the spots I stayed, don't think I'd hang on any of these trees. I see the pics on the national park service site show some promising pics of sky camp and glenn camp that are reasonably wooded.
I'd love to return someday as a hanger, if you do go, please give us a hang report.
Thanks,
David
I've got an uncle out that way that I could probably contact to find out, if you want. He does a lot of nature photography, so he may have an idea of what the local campgrounds look like.
If you want, let me know.
FLRider,
Thanks for the offer. If your Uncle happens to be out there or like to take some photos out there, I would appreciate it. I heard that Sky Camp and Glen Camp had some trees. I confirmed that with Rangers, but they couldn't tell me if they were suitable for hanging. I know that Coast Camp doesn't, was there last year tent camping.
I'm over in the Sacramento area and I really want to get out the house. Want to do snow camping, but no snow. Hanging nearby would be nice. Anyone have any suggestions?
Tahoe...Monitor or Sonora Pass areas...Big Sur?
Big Sur would be a great idea... or Big Basin in the Santa Cruz mountains. There must be some nice woods up above Sac towards tahoe, heh? Maybe something around 3500' to 5000' elevation.
I'll ask Mom (his sister) for his e-mail. Might be a few days until I hear back; she works crazy hours.
If you want, I can PM you his website to search through the galleries that he has on there (I know next to nothing about the area that he lives; I've never been west of Illinois). You never know, something might jump out at you.
I would enjoy looking a photo website. Thanks FLRider.
There's a sticky post at the top of this subforum: a spreadsheet of hammock friendly campgrounds. There are a couple Pt Reyes campsite #s that work and several that don't.
